According to a few stopwatch-equipped “observers”, an R35 GT-R Spec-V prototype has been timed around Germany’s famous Nurburgring Nordschliefe in a stunning 7 minutes and 25 seconds. Not only is that 13 seconds faster than a regular R35, but it’s three seconds faster than Porsche’s Carrera GT hypercar. The addition of 50-odd more kilowatts and the subtraction of around 150 kilograms is said to be responsible for the laptime improvement, while the clearly-visible and clearly-different front lip, wheels and rear wing also seem to play an active role in raising performance. Tyres remain a mystery for now.

Don’t get too excited just yet though, because right now this news is nothing more than an unconfirmed, unsubstantiated rumour. Hell, at the moment even the “Spec-V” moniker is a complete guess. Pending some video confirmation of the feat, we’ll be slapping a “Rumours & Hearsay” tag on this one.

Car magazine is the only outlet we’ve seen publish this claim and until we see some evidence to back it up, we’re gunna take this rumour with a grain of salt. Still, we’re hoping to god its true. Imagine the bragging rights.
