Jackie Chan has revealed that he and Chris Tucker will reteam for a fourth collaboration. The Hong Kong action star said the film wouldn’t be part of the Rush Hour franchise and a “middleman” would be needed to get his and Tucker’s schedules to line up. He said: “Nowadays, you need a middleman to push things; in the old days, we didn’t  need a push from a middleman. “It’s like two days ago when Chris Tucker called me. We sat down and decided we want to do another movie. Not a Rush Hour - something new.” The films have grossed more than $1 billion but Chan feels the time is right to move on and hopes to quickly hire a writer to work on his new Tucker collaboration. Chan add  ”We finished Rush Hour and it was six years later that we made Rush Hour 2 and then six years later we made Rush Hour 3. It’s too long!”
